Orbitas Bereavement Services is a wholly owned Company of Cheshire East Council and has responsibility for managing the Council’s ten cemeteries and two crematoria.

As a Bereavement Assistant you will play an important role in the provision of bereavement services to the residents of East Cheshire.  The role will involve working as both a Chapel Attendant and as part of the Administrative Team.

As a Chapel Attendant, your responsibilities will include preparing for and overseeing funeral services, liaising with Funeral Directors, helping visitors to the crematorium and cleaning and general upkeep of the crematorium building and immediate surroundings.  Administrative duties will include customer care and administrative support relating to burials, cremations, exhumations and memorials.  A good level of IT literacy and the ability to work additional hours when required would be highly desirable.
